Welcome to Culm Valley Publishing. Based in the heart of the West Country, CVP specialises in walking guides for Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Our spectacular coastlines, historic towns and, of course, Exmoor, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are included. All the walks in our books are circular.

Most of our guides cover countryside walking and the varied, and often spectacular, circular walks on offer will appeal to birdwatchers and photographers as well as to walkers. All our titles have been published since 2011 so are very up to date. Our flagship Dozen Dramatic series consists of: A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Devon, A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Somerset, A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Cornwall and A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Dorset. These beautifully-photographed books, with both colour plates and black and white photographs, will appeal as much to those who live in and love the West Country as to visitors to the region. The drama is in the scenery - the walks aren't necessarily strenuous.

We have also published Circular Walks in Central Devon, a very popular guide exploring the Mid Devon area – a beautiful and oft-overlooked part of the county away from the better-known moors and coasts of Devon. The second title in this series is Circular Walks in East Devon, which also includes the Blackdown Hills and sections of the Jurassic Coast. Circular Walks in North Devon, including part of Exmoor, arrived at the beginning of April 2013. Future titles will cover West Devon and the South Hams.

We also have a new series covering 'urban' walking: Town Walks in Devon and Town Walks in Cornwall offer a very different kind of walk. These guides contain shortish rambles of discovery, looking at the historic sights and sites (!) of some of Devon and Cornwall's lovely towns – a good way to avoid mud and sample tea shops.

All these titles have been extremely well-received with much positive feedback from walkers, some great coverage on BBC Radio and very encouraging reviews in newspapers and magazines.

The West Country has much to offer scenically and our range of beautiful greetings cards and prints reflects this, depicting the stunning and dramatic landscape in all its moods. All images in the books are available on request as cards and prints.

A wide range of West Country images will also be available to purchase through Culm Valley Publishing's photo library.

In addition to producing walking guides, we have extensive background experience of publishing for the academic and photographic markets and we provide a publishing service for authors wishing to get their books into print.
