Welcome to Culm Valley Publishing. Based in the heart of the West Country, CVP specialises in walking guides for Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset including Exmoor, Dartmoor, our spectacular coastlines and historic towns. All the walks in our books are circular.

Most of our books cover countryside walking but our newest titles, Town Walks in Devon, (December 2011) and Town Walks in Cornwall (April 2012) offer a different kind of walk. These guides contain shortish rambles of discovery, looking at the historic sights and sites (!) of some of Devon and Cornwall's lovely towns – a good way to avoid mud and sample tea shops.

Out in the countryside with our other books, the varied, and often spectacular, circular routes on offer will appeal to birdwatchers and photographers as well as to walkers. All our titles were published in 2011/2012 so are very up to date. These include: A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Devon, A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Somerset and A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Cornwall. These beautifully-photographed books, with both colour plates and black and white illustrations, will appeal as much to those who live in and love the West Country as to visitors to the region. We also published Circular Walks in Central Devon in 2011 – a very popular guide which explores the Mid Devon area – a beautiful and oft-overlooked part of the county away from the better-known moors and coasts of Devon. The next title in this particular series will be Circular Walks in East Devon, which will also include the Blackdown Hills.

The Dozen Dramatic series will continue with A Dozen Dramatic Walks in Dorset which is currently being researched and will be published in the late Spring of 2012.

All these titles have been extremely well-received with much positive feedback from walkers, some great coverage on BBC Radio and very encouraging reviews in newspapers and magazines.

Future titles will cover circular walks in West Devon, the South Hams and North Devon.

The West Country has much to offer scenically and our range of beautiful greetings cards and prints reflects this, depicting the stunning and dramatic landscape in all its moods. All images in the books are available as cards and prints.

A wide range of West Country images will also be available to purchase through Culm Valley Publishing's photo library.

In addition to producing walking guides, we have extensive background experience of publishing for the academic and photographic markets and we provide a publishing service for authors wishing to get their books into print.
